== Event Organisation == Linking data and publications in the environmental sciencesBR A CLADDIER project workshop Date: Tuesday 15th May 2007BR Venue: Cedar Suite, Chilworth Manor, Chilworth, Southampton BR This CLADDIER (CITATION, LOCATION, And DEPOSITION IN DISCIPLINE & INSTITUTIONAL REPOSITORIES) workshop provides a key opportunity to hear about progress in the project and also, most importantly, to discuss fundamental next steps to further the linking of citations from source data to publications databases. The emphasis is on the environmental sciences. The University of Southampton and STFC institutional repositories are exemplars of institutional repositories in the UK. The British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC), likewise, is an exemplar of a discipline based data archive. As part of the project a demonstration system linking publications held in the institutional repositories with data holdings in the BADC has been set up to explore the issues involved. == Programme == 9.30 Registration and CoffeeBR 10.00 Welcome and IntroductionBR 10.15 The CLADDIER vision Bryan Lawrence – Project DirectorBR CLADDIER – project fundamentalsBR Sam Pepler – Project Manager 11.00 Coffee BreakBR 11.30 Publication and citation in practice Data publication issues and methods - Catherine Jones, STFCBR A data and publication discovery service - Brian Matthews, STFCBR Other InitiativesBR Citing Geospatial DataBR Guy !McGarva, EDINA National Data Centre Data and Publications: A view from ChemistryBR Simon Coles, EPSRC UK National Crystallography Service 1.00 LunchBR 2.00 A view from NERC Mark Thorley, NERCBR 2:15 Breakout groupsBR Writing citations BR Peer review processes for dataBR Publication and data interaction in the futureBR 3.15 Tea BreakBR 3.45 Breakout feedbackBR 4.15 Summing up – a view from the bridgeBR 4.30 Close of Workshop There is no charge for the workshop itself although accommodation, if you wish to arrive early, is at your own expense.
